Architecture and comfort are the synthesis with which Jean-Marie Massaud has defined the High Back version of the GranTorino. A rigid skyline of masterfully-worked valuable leather in which to seek refuge, in the home or office, enveloped in soft padding upholstered in leather or fabric. A sofa with true personality, which can be created freely, alone, as a pair or matched to the rich versions of the GranTorino. Unusual, irreverent, but always featuring all the fascination and elegance of Poltrona Frau furnishings.
The seat structure is in metal tubing with interwoven elastic belts. Backrests and armrests are created from birch plywood. The seat padding is created using sheets of pressed wadding, polyurethane foam with different densities and polyester wadding. The external padding of the backrests and sides is in polyurethane foam and polyester wadding, whilst inside a polyurethane foam padded MDF panel is attached, covered with a soft quilting embellished with "X" stitching and padded in polyester wadding. The seat cushion is in down and polyester wadding with polyurethane foam stabilising insert. Each element is coupled with precise numbers of “moving” cushions, enhancing the backrest.
The cushion sizes are 60x60 cm (included in the price) and 47x47 cm (not included but suggested) and they are filled with goose feathers. The feet are in titanium colour coated aluminium, with protective plastic caps. The upholstery matches leather with fabric: leather for the vertical panels and removable fabric for base, cushions and quilting. The saddle leather version is enriched by raised stitching and the clean-cut leather is finished manually.
