The Victoria and Abert collection is a design project from 2000 by Ron Arad for Moroso. Works left open and which instinctively adapt to personal needs, differing from the conventional seating model, in which the padding and large cushions are the predominant features. It constitutes a successful attempt to go outside the limitations of the aesthetic in pursuit of new spatial relations in a manner. The collection Victoria and Abert born intention to propose an innovated but comfortable and soft, ideally far from 'sculptured upholstery' Ron Arad for Moroso's catalog for years, livable for more people in more situations. Two armchairs accompany a sofa that is the absolute master of the scene: a true "good shape" that can mediate between design and function and is able to reconcile a taste for research and technology with the ability to lie down comfortable without having to give up "pillowy '. Even in this case the designer does not want to create a totem pole, but give the possibility to use an object in the most normal manner considering both comfort and beauty. The choice of the name "Victoria and Abert" is a homage to the famous museum in London, from which in June 2000 was held a very important anthology of Ron Arad. The great success with the Victoria & Albert armchair encouraged Moroso to deepen the possibility of using new materials and new production techniques, while retaining the formal characteristics of the product.
