Fragment Glas Italia Folding Screen
Fragment designed by Nendo for Glas Italia is a screen made of tempered extralight glass, with a special double-sided checkerboard decoration. Two glass panels, with perpendicularly oriented checkerboards, are applied to the two faces of a brushed polished aluminum frame, remaining separated by a gap of a few centimeters. This creates a play of mirrors, coverings and transparencies that deceive the observer, dissimulating and confusing the reflected objects with the screened ones, and vice versa. The screen is composed of modular panels hinged together.
