The Archibald Delicate Balance Limited Edition, born from the collaboration between Poltrona Frau and artist Shepard Fairey, reinterprets one of the brand's most recognizable icons in a dialogue between design and contemporary art. Originally designed by Jean-Marie Massaud, the Archibald armchair becomes a true artistic manifesto: Fairey's visual language integrates with the iconic silhouette of the original project, transforming the surface into a three-dimensional canvas. Graphic signs and symbols compose a visual narrative inspired by the central themes of the artist's research, reflecting on the delicate balance between humanity and nature.
Produced in a limited and numbered edition, the armchair is upholstered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere Impact Less leather, certified by the Leather Working Group (LWG) Gold and obtained through a more responsible tanning process that reduces the use of chemicals and water. The illustration is applied using high-definition digital printing and enriched with selective 3D embossing, creating delicate tactile reliefs and enhancing the material depth of the work.
In line with Poltrona Frau's ongoing commitment to sustainability and the social and environmental vision of artist Shepard Fairey, the collaboration goes beyond the product: thanks to the partnership with Treedom, for each Delicate Balance armchair, two coffee trees are planted in the Huehuetenango region of Guatemala, supporting a community of 80 indigenous women.
