Poltrona Frau Ginger: A soft leather shell, comfortable and protective. A refined and simple easy chair. Neat, essential, and comfortable. Roberto Lazzeroni designed the Ginger chair both as a natural accompaniment to the Fred desk, and as a separate seat. The swivel version is perfect for a study area, while the fixed model is ideal for a dining table. There is a continual play of references between Ginger and Fred in the design, materials and workmanship. Ginger’s frame is in special rigid, high density, low thickness, moulded polyurethane. It is completely covered by a single layer of 5 mm thick Saddle Leather Extra, in two variants: Dark Brown or Camel. The inner surface of the frame is covered in Pelle Frau® Color System creating an attractive contrast between colour and material. The skilful leatherwork can also be seen in the precious details such as the visible topstitching that runs along the outside edge, creating an elegant decorative effect. The seat is stuffed with polyurethane foam. The base has four legs in wenge coloured solid ash wood with a triangular profile. The support for fixing the frame is in black painted steel and the swivel model allows for a 360° rotation.
Pelle Frau® SC - Color System Frau®. Pelle Frau® leather means colour, too. The planned colours of the Colour System: a co-ordinated range of 90 different nuances of colours, characterised by the ease with which the various colours can be matched up. In turn, for those who prefer the artificial vocabulary of colour, this allows for the creation of harmonious combinations of the shades both among different pieces of furniture and within the same object. Poltrona Frau has achieved the perfect balance of natural material and surface dressing treatments thanks to its specific technical research and vast experience. Passing time will confer elegance on Color System by Pelle Frau®, with its interesting sensory profile, resistance characteristics and for its excellent performance during use, as well as offering easy maintenance.
Saddle leather. Both in the house and office, hide is subject to the requirements of daily use and temperature changes. In the Poltrona Frau analysis and experimentation laboratory, scrupulous testing was carried out, while continuous exchanges with the tannery took place, before reaching a definition of Saddle leather. Dimensional stability and a predisposition for gluing have been considered essential, together with the warm clouding of the surface, and constant, durable quality. The base of the material is European adult bovine skin, worked with natural techniques, and finished with a special dye, in order to limit damage from accidental scratches. Saddle leather is stable in light, and resists stains well. Any small scars or roughness demonstrate the authenticity of the material and its natural origins.
